This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Steven Miller who was born in Joplin, Missouri on April 27, 1988 and passed away on February 11, 2006 at the age of 17. During these brief years Steven touched many lives with his laugh, his smile, and his love. He will be deeply missed forever by all who knew and loved him.
"He was, despite the few years of his life, no brief candle. He was a Splendid Torch, vital, charismatic, magnetic, attractive. Full of the attributes that all of us wish we had in greater abundance"! By: Bob Buford
I Called You Son!
You called me Dad, I called you Son, I never dreamed I’d be the One; Left standing here alone, with you already Home! The times we had, were always Fun, Playing catch out in the Sun. Camping underneath the Stars, Talking football, girls & Cars! How empty is my heart & soul without You!
I called you Son, You called me Dad, With You my heart was ever Glad! No one else I’d rather spend my time With! Now loneliness is my best Friend, I long to see your face Again. To hear You laugh, and see You Smile, To hang out with You for a While I’d give anything for one more day with You!
I often think about the Day, I heard that You had gone Away. A part of me died right there Too! No more the happy, carefree Soul, My heart now has an empty Hole, Memories of you fill my Mind, I think about You all the Time. I guess in that way we are still Together!
And so for now we are Apart, I’ll have to keep You in my Heart. And try my best to make You proud of Me! And I believe that one fine Day, The clouds of Grief will pass Away. And I will find You once Again, And our new life can then Begin And You will call me Dad, and I will call You Son!
Steven's friend Zach sent me these pictures of his beautiful tribute to Steven's memory! Thank You from the bottom of my Heart Zach!

THANKS TO THE GUYS OF GROVE STREET FOR THE AWESOME BACKGROUND MUSIC ON THIS MEMORIAL SITE!
Steven was a remarkable young man of many talents and attributes, but it was his strong faith in God and his deep love for those around him that really marked who he was. Steven loved everyone and he did not care what your name was, what color of skin you had, or how much money was in your bank account. He respected each person for who they were and did not try to be who he wasn't. His bright smile, contagious laugh and cheerful attitude were a powerful ministry to those whom he came in contact with. While he may be gone in body his undying spirit lives on through each and every person that knew him. The world would truly be a better place if we could all see each other through Steven's eyes!
It comes in like a flood, Shoves off just the same, Never a warning, With no one to blame. And not even time can offer a remedy. Like a knife through my heart, A kiss to my face, Is your memory! (lyrics by Jonah 33)
GO BUFFS!
Anyone who was around Steven knew of his intense love for the CU Buffaloes Football Team, as well as an equally intense dislike for the University of Nebraska.

Steven's favorite Buff over the past few years was #27 Brian Iwuh. His sideline-to-sideline play and hard hitting, was an inspiration to Steven. Brian Iwuh is currently a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL. He is #59.
Steven also loved the Denver Broncos. He was a big fan of Shannon Sharp and Champ Bailey. Check the slide show and main photo album for pictures of Steve at Bronco Headquarters!

Of course Steven's other favorite football team is his beloved La Junta Tigers! He was proud to walk on the field dressed in the black and orange and represent his home town and school. His fellow teammates were very important to him as were the Tiger coaches.

OTHER INTERESTS Steven had many other interests besides football. He loved to swim and being a lifeguard at the La Junta pool made him very proud.
Steven also loved music. His tastes were varied but the one thing that it always had was a good beat. Click on the Audio & Video link to check out some of his favorite toons. If any of you know of a particular song he was very fond of please drop me a line and let me know.
Dodge Ram trucks were also a love of Steven's as well as motorcycles and dirt bikes. Check in the photo album section for some pics of those.
Steven also loved animals, especially dogs. Check back soon for some pictures of some of the animals that Steven loved and cherished.
